WELLINGTON. (From the Wellington Independent, Dec. 3o .)

Very little, if an/ orange has been obgerved in commercial matters during the month. Wool is coming in fast from the various station*, and the ships now in harbor are proceeding with their loading, but money remains exceedingly scarce, and at present without immediate prospect of- improvement. Auction sales have not jjeen very numerous, having probably to some extent been ' interrupted by the sitting of the Supreme Court. One sale by Mesin. Smith & Co, on Wednes- ' day (the 28th inst.) demands a passing notice from the fact' that it comprised a considerable quantity of furniture (couches, chests of drawers, a library table, &o.) all manufactured in this town,* And of a quality that will leave little cause for importing similar articles in the future. No great change has taken place in the prices of staple articles, but with the harvest now near at hand, we may look for some decline in flour and breadstuffs, while the large quantities of goods that continue to arrive from Great Britain, will prevent any advance ■on rates that have lately been obtained. :
