At Kawau. The Australasian Mining Co .'s barque Baltasara, 330 tons, with miners and mining apparatus from' Falmouth. l^We do not enumerate, among the Ships in port, any of our extensive coasting flotilla, under 50 tonsst.. Were we to do so, we should be compelled to occupy too much of our space.

Ships Expected from Loxboit. ' Artemesia,' S. Baines, 530 tons, for Auckland and New Plymouth, sailed on the 28th November. ♦Balnaguith,' new clipper, teak-built ship, chartered by Messrs. F. Young and Co., (belonging to Messrs. D. Dunbar and Son,) A. 1. 13 years, 900 tons, A. Smith, H.E.1.C.5., for Auckland, Wellington and Canterbury,—to sail 20th December, and " fully expected to make the passage in 80 days."

Shipping Expected and Departing. Owing, we presume, to the continued prevalence of Easterly and South Easterly winds, we have been an unusual time without any arrivals either from England or the Colonies. The first change will, in all likelihood, bring a little fleet in upon us. Indeed we had just penned these remarks when first one signal and then another for two vessels (both barques) was made. It was however so late in the afternoon, and they are both so far distant that there is no likelihood of their reaching the anchorage before we go to to press. The " Artemisia" from London, having sailed on the 28th Nov., is now one hundred and twenty two days out, and ought, therefore, to be one of the vessels now in sight. The " Balnaguith " "expected to make the passage in eighty days," was to leave the Docks on the 20th Dec, calling at Plymouth to receive passengers. Supposing her to have sailed from that port on the Ist Jan., she will have been eightynine days out ; so that if her performance keep any pace with the expectations formed of it, she, too, must be shortly here. From Sydney, the Louise Caesar, and Moa, are both fully due ; and no doubt, we shall, about the same time, have some of our regular Melbourne traders dropping in upon us. The brigs "Strive," Captain Bacon, and "Kestrel Captain Wallace, have gone,— the one above Kauri Point, and the other to the River Wade to load for Melbourne ; for which port the brig " Fayaway," Captain Keane, is taking in cargo. The brig "Fortuna," Captain Stuart, and the barques " Mary Parker," Captain Burnard, and " Onyx," Captain Tutty, are loading and on the eve of sailing for Melbourne ; for which port the brig " Nile," Captain Whinnel, took her departure, with a full cargo, on Sunday morning last. The barque "Delmar," Captain Thayer, and the schooner " Marmora," Captain Kelly, are about to sail for Sydney ; and the schooner "Louisa," Captain Dawson, for Hobart Town. When these shall have left us, our harbour will present a more naked appearance than it has done for many months.
