Women “A Good Black Frock

“A good black dress,” is a fashion refrain that runs through women’s heads sometime or other, when they are planning wardrobe changes. Black is a colour becoming to 00 per cent, of the world’s women and is suitable for 90 per cent, of (he occasions on which the average woman could wear black. Paris designers have "taken it to their hearts” again this year.

There are many elegant, women who consider black for their most important clothes, while numbers of women with simple, quiet tastes, like it best for their

requirements. It can be severe, all-black ; sedate with little white collars: glamorous with jewels; sophisticated with metal dress clips or pearls. It is a colour as becoming to the “just twenty-ones” as it is to older women with white hair. A black frock or suit can tell- a silhou-

ette fashion story with dramatic effect. Equally at home in summer or winter, a basically well-cut frock can be worn at any time. ' In the mornings wear it with or without embellishment; add a sophisticated hat to the ensemble for the afternoon, setting off the frock with a jewelled dress pin. piece of antique jewellery, or similar ornament ;at night a more lavish display of glitter and gleam is right for a dinner or dancing occasion. For tall women, a wider-at-top silhouette is best, with dolman sleeves and a. slim skirt. Carried out in black, it would look effective with a large ornamental clip on the bodice.
