Late News AGREEMENT ON PALESTINE
America and Britain To Co-operate
(Received October 27, 1.30 a.m.) NEW YORK. October 26.
■ President Truman and Air. AtGee have reached an agreement on Palestine which is very pleasing to the British. reports the “New York Tinies’ London correspondent. Mr. Truman has pledged the United States to ‘cooperate in a joint policy on Palestine, thus meeting the British objection that the Americans were very generous with advice, but reluctant to assume responsibility. The Labour Government has been watting for such an agreement for several weeks, and is now in a position to proceed with the details of the settlement. An official statement on Palestine policy is expected within a week.
