Small Party Arrives In
Rimutaka
A small party of New Zealand servicemen and their dependants arrived in Wellington in the Riniutaka yesterday. The draft consisted mainly of R.N.Z.A.F. per sonnel, their wives, and children, but there were also naval and army men aboard, and in addition about 70 civilian passengers. The servicemen were welcomed by an official party headed bj' the Minister of Defence, Mr. Jones. Among the R.N.Z.A.F. personnel were Squadron-Lender C. F. Hayter, D.F.C. and Bar, a New Zealand short service commission pilot in the R.A.F., who had a distinguished record in the Buttle of Britain, and was later engaged on special duties in Turkey. Two widows of New Zealand airmen each with a child, were among the party.
