AUDITOR-GENERAL
Mr. Rutherford Appointed
The appointment of Mr. J. V. Rutherford, Deputy Controller and AuditorGeneral, as Controller and Auditor-Gen-eral was announced last night by the Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser. Mr. Rutherford succeeds Mr. C. G. Collins, who will retire today. Mr. Ru’herford has been 42 years with the Audit Office. He was examiner and ledgerkeeper at the head office for seven years, audit inspector at Wnnganui, Duneflin nnd Christchurch for 22 years, audit officer in London for five years, supervisor of tlie local bodies branch, head office, for t.wo years, and Deputy Controller and Auditor-General for six years. He is a member of the New Zealand Society of Accountants.
