Sailing Ship Pamir

Sir, —I was interested in your report of the departure of the New Zealand sailing ship Pamir, as 1 am an old sailor myself. I have, been sailing aboard these wind-jammers for 1.2 years. I was very proud to see this sailing ship down here, for you don’t find them any more up in Canada, where I come from. The first thing I di«l on arrival at 'Wellington was to go aboard and have a look over her I found the right man to get information from, your kindly countryman, Captain D. C. Champion. I spoke to him aud found that he was the right man for a sailing ship. There was discipline everywhere aboard, from the chief officer down to the cadets. The men’s quarters were nice and clean and round the deck everything was in place. 1 was very proud of everything 1 saw aboard. —I am. etc.. OLD SWEDE. Wi llington, September 21.
