CHAMBER MUSIC SOCIETY
The formation of a Wellington Chamber Music Society was decided on by a meeting of nearly 200 people in Nimmo’s Hal] on Tuesday night. Mr. SV. B. Harris, who presided, explained that Vue purpose of the society would bo to help music Joveps by providing a regular series of chamber music concerts each year, and to help musicians by providing an assured audience at a guaranteed f<'<». A formal constitution was adopted, and the following committee was elected: —Chairman. Mr. 11. C. Simpson; treasurer. Mr. F. Turnovsky: committee, Dr. J. C. .Beaglehole and Messrs. Spencer Digby, B. Harris, R. S. Parker, and C. 11. Straubel. It was decided that the annual subscription should be one guinea. entitling a member to one seat throughout thp season, which this year will probably comprise six concerts.
