It was announced at this week’s meet-, ing of the AVellington Colleges Board of Governors that Cabinet had sanctioned the purchase of two properties adjoining the AVellington-Girls’ College. These properties are houses, both of considerable age, belonging to the Brandon Estate, which stand in their own grounds ot about a quarter of an acre each, on tne corner of Hobson Street.. It was stated that considerable renovation, would be required to both the houses. AVheu the purchase is completed the land will become part of the school grounds and the houses will probably be used as classrooms for the time being. It is expected, however, (hat some time will ellipse before the preliminaries are completed. In the ease of the inhabited house alternative accommodation will have to be found for the tenant.
