AUCKLAND TROTTING STAKES RAISED

AUCKLAND, October 19. The Auckland Trotting Cup, to be run at Epsom in December, will be worth £2OOO and a gold cup valued at £lOO. The .Bowe Memorial Handicap, for trotters, will carry a stake of £loov. Both will be of two miles. The limit of the trotting cup was fixed at 4.32, horses assessed on 4.33 at the time of the declaration of handicaps to be eligible. The limit of the Rowe Memorial Handicap will be 4.46, horses on 4.47 at time of handicaps being eligible. i „ . This is the largest prize-money offered for these two races since 1928, when Gold Jacket won the trotting cup and Kempton the Rowe Cup. „ Visiting horses to arrive at Epsorn yesterday for the Auckland Trotting Club s spring meeting on Saturday and Monday included Claremorris, Safety Pin, Sea Born, Admiration, Castigate,, Cockney, Warform, Maureen Grattan, King Parrish, Karangi, Bulldozer. Oval’s Pride, Toushay, Echoist, Mae Wynne, Strummer, and times for the Auckland trots are: 11.40, Waitemata Handicap; 12.30, October Handicap; 1.15. Parnell Handicap; 2.5, Victory Handicap: 2.u0 Mountain Handicap: 3.35, Stewards’ Handicap; 4.25, Epsom Handicap; 5.15, Electric Handicap. ( > •
