BY-ELECTION VOTING FACILITIES
Civilian and service voting facilities for the Awarua by-election on Saturday, October 28, were announced yesterday by the chief electoral officer, Mr. L. Irwin. They concern particularly service personnel and civilians absent from the electorate. Civilian electors who are away from the electorate on election day may vote as absent voters at any post office during the ordinary office hours. The following are the arrangements for service voters: A member of the forces may vote at the by-election whether a registered elector or not, provided his last residential address before being called for service was situated in the district. He may vote at any service establishment or at any post office from now till 7 p.m. on the day before election day, or he may vote at any polling booth in the Awarua electorate on election' day, or. provided he is a registered elector, he may vote as an absentee voter at any post office outside the electorate on election day.
