CARTERTON WEDDING

Pratt—Challis St. Mark’s Church, Carterton, was the scene of a pretty wtfding recently, when Beryl Rhae, youngest daughter ot Mr. and Mrs. T. B. Challis, Garrison Street, Carterton, was married to Herbert Alfred, second son of Mr. and Mrs. II T. Pratt, Church Street, Masterton. □’lie Rev. W. F. Stent officiated, and Mr. Miller Hope was at the organ. ' The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a charming gown of silk spotted net over white organdie, cut on early Victorian lines. The neckline was trimmed with ncedlfirun lace and there were tiny white buttons down the back of the dress to the waistline. Her tulle veil was embossed with satin, and she carried a bouquet of white camellias and spring blossoms. . _ _ T The bridesmaids, Misses Jean Hoar, Masterton, and Peggy O’Connell, Palmerston North, wore pretty frocks of blue georgette. The frocks featured pm tucked bodices with square necklines and each wore blue tulle veils held in place with blue birds. They carried bouquets to tone and wore pearl necklaces. . The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. H.' J. Pratt, and Mr. G. Porter was groomsman. The artistic decorations at the church were the work of friends of the bride. At the reception a large number or guests were received by Mesdames Challis and Pratt, the former wearing a frock of floral crepe de chine with hat to match and a toning shoulder spray. Mrs. Pratt was atttired in a navy ensemble and she wore a black and white hat. Her shoulder spray was to tone. When the bride and bridegroom left on their honeymoon the bride wore a black and white check worsted costume with matching accessories. Their, future home will be at Auckland.
