Children’s Tram Fares The desirability of having the age limit for children's tram fares extended from 12 to 15 years, because of the raising of the school leaving age to 15, was urged by the Wellington School Committees and Education Association in a letter read at yesterday’s meeting of the Wellington Education Board. The association asked the board to approach the Wellington City Council’s tramways department. The secretary, Mr. W. I. Dcavoll, said that he had written to the traiiiways committec and the general manager, Mr. Hutton, had replied that the committee had decided to make no change. Mr. Hutton in iris letter said that school children were able to travel to and from school from Monday till Friday on a monthly ticket at a very reduced rate up to the age of 18 years. Mr. N. E. Dalmer said that because of the raising of the school age. children were prevented from earning till they were 15. For that reason, the question of the raising of the half-rale fare age to 15 should be taken up by the board with the eit.V council as the controlling body, with the object of having an obvious anomaly cleared up immediately.
