LIFE CERTIFICATES
Men Reported Dead But
Still Alive
(Received October 18, 10.30 p.m.) CANBERRA, October 18. Some Australians after this war may have to produce certificates to prove they are alive. This is the effect of an amendment to the National Security Regulation just gazetted. The amendment was necessary to bring legally-to life men and women reported dead during the war. It covers cases where people are found to be alive after war deatli certificates have been issued. New “life certificates’’ will cancel the death certificates. The “life certificate” will not affect the rights of persons acting on the authority of the death certificate and not knowing that the new certificate has been issued.
