STILL ATTACKING
American Fleet Off Philippines SYDNEY, October 17. Tokio radio states that a new United States naval task force appeared off the Philippines today, and 150 planes raided the Alaniia area. At 1 p.m. today 25 Super-Fortresses attacked a' town in Formosa. ‘ Admiral Nimitz has reported that no important damage lias been done to American aircraft-carriers or battleships. Two medium ships (cruisers or destroyers) were hit by aerial torpedoes .and retired from the area. The casualties were small. General Stilwell reports that his planes yesterday sank a Japanese cruiser and probably a destroyer in the South China Sea, '
