PURCHASE OF WOOL
Contract With Britain “We shall have the same contract from Britain,” said the Minister of Agriculture. Mr. Roberts, in the last night, when replying to a question by Air. Broadfoot. (Opposition. Waitomo) on the wool purchase agreement between Australia and Great. Britain. During discussion of the Agricultural Department’s estimates, Mr. Broadfoot said it was reported from Australia that, the British Government had agreed to extend the wool purchase agreement till one year after the war. He asked if a similar arrangement was being made regarding New Zealand’s wool. Mr. Roberts said the Australian Government had defined the duration of the war as till the defeat, of the Japanese and not the | end of the European war.
