North And South Of Slovakia LONDON, October 16. Two Soviet armies in a huge pincer movement are closing in on Czechoslovakia. While one forces its (way down through the Carpathians into Slovakia another, in northern Transylvania is now only 12 miles from the Czechoslovakian border. Moscow reports that the Red Army in north Transylvania, in co-operation with Rumanian troops, captured 106 places, including Borsa, 40 miles north-west of Campulnng. The Red Army, in co-operation with Yugoslav national troops, opened operations against Belgrade and took 1500 prisoners on the outskirts of the city. Bulgarian troops, in an operation carried out in conjunction with the Yugoslavs and the Red Army, fought their way into Nish and Leskovac. Evacuation of the remaining German 1 forces in Yugoslavia and Greece is believed in London to be out of the question. High Command Leaving.
