OBITUARY
Mr. T. G. Aitken The death occurred recently at. the Ewart Hospital, Wellington, of Mr. Thomas Galloway Aitken, aged 61. Mr. Aitken was educated at the Wanganui Boys’ High School and entered the service of the Bank of Australasia at Hawera in 1910. He later took up farming and in 1914 enlisted in the N.Z.F.A.; seeing action in the Middle East and France till 1918. After the war he became a land agent, but. suffered ill-health, because he was gassed in France, and in 1934 was admitted to the Ewart Hospital. He became secretary of the Men Patients’ Association, and being deeply interested in the welfare of his fellow patients was instrumental, in getting weekly picture shows, concert parties, and succeeded in having radio apparatus fitted to each bed. He was keenly interesteil in all sport and. music. He is survived by his wife.
