PATRIOTIC ASSETS
Sale To U.S. Services Consequent on the withdrawal of New Zealand land forces from the Pacific area, the National Patriotic Fund Board, said the deputy-chairman. Mr. Perry, M.L.C., had sold to United States welfare services assets which included an icecream plant in New Caicdonia, and also the Kiwi Club and its contents’on Bonrail Beach, as well as equipment supplied to Y.M.C.A. representatives. Negotiations were also entered into witii several civilian firms at Noumea for the purchase of certain patriotic _ stores, but those did not include.such items as fruit juices, sports gear, printing plant, picture plants, and other items difficult to obtain in New Zealand. These were being returned to the Dominion as shipping became available. The board's efforts in the Pacific were now concentrated on mooting the welfare requirements of the Royal New Zealand Air Force and New Zealand naval personnel in that area.
