GERMANS RALLYING
De Gaulle Surveys Position (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, September 26. General de Gaulle, addressing French troops near the Swiss frontier, gave a warning against premature, optimism, says a correspondent, lie said: “In spite of your courage and the strength of the Allied armour and munitions, the enemy has been able to build up and regroup his forces am] o.nee more oppose the Allies with a strong fighting force,” he said.
“It would be a mistake to let people think aud hope that a rapid conclusion of the war will be reached and that the Bodies can be defeated in the near future. But they will be defeated.
“Next spring France will have a strong army to carry on the fight in cooperation with the Allies. The French Government is unanimous in the belief that never before was the nation better adapted for the final struggle than France is today.”
