MUSICALE AT E.S.U.
A ruusieale was given at the women members’ social at the L.S.U. m Wellington yesterday afternoon. An enjoyable programme, arranged by Mrs. Janies Bennie, was as follows: —A oeal solos. Miss Audrey Luwson. Mrs. E. Ballinger. Miss Marjorie Bennie: elocutionary item. Miss Mary Annette Burgess: pianoforte solo, Miss Shirlev Craig: vocal duets, Mrs. Jove Taylor and Miss Taylor; vio in solo, Miss Shirley Marment; sketch. Mrs. McDowell and Mrs. Creswell. The accompanists were Mrs. Caigou, Mrs. Joyc Taylor and Miss S. Craig.
Sowing Machines Wanted. Anvone willing to loan ' a sewing machine to the Y.W.C.A. for a period of three or six months would make it possible for many girls boarding tn Wellington to learn to make their own clothes. Every care would be taken of the machine and cartage arranged to and from the YWCA. The telephone ntimber 18 42-168.
Another Early Fashions Parade. As so many requests to repeat the parade of old-time frocks have been received by the Wellington free Kindergarten Association, it has been decided to hold the parade again in the Concert Chamber on Tuesday. September 26. Additional frocks, which have not been shown before, will be included. Hie other half of the evenings programme will consist of plays.
