Dr. And Mrs, Luke Entertain
A delightful and informal debutmite party” was given by Dr. and Mrs. Line Luke. Wellington, on Thursday night for their daughter. Miss Pat Luke. Jheie were 130 guests, the majority of whom were young people. The party was given in the Phyllis Bates studio, the lovely decorations of japonica. blossom and daffodils. which made the room so attractive. coming from the gardens of friends. Mrs. Luke wore a spray of pink orchids on her gown of black mousseline and her daughter, who is home on holiday from Otago University, wore a lovely “deb” frock of stiffened french net over satin. Pastel shaded velvet flowers peeped from beneath the layers of net and she carried a posy of pastel shaded flowers. . ,■ . ~ A band played for dancing, the many novelty numbers being enjoyed by the young'people and a savoury buffet supper was served.
