Final Gallops For Hunt Meeting

Dominion,, Special Service. HAWERA. August 24. The final gallops for horses racing at Hawera on Saturday were performed tills morning. Early workers were favoured with good overhead conditions, but rain set in before operations were completed. The outside of the course proper was used, the pegs being 40 feet out. The going was holding. Greek Art (Milts) sprinted two furlongs In 23. His stablemate, Beau Fox (Mudford) occupied 41 to cover an additional furlong. Etta Quex (Mudford) anil Golden Asli (Moore) galloped five furlongs in 1.1:1, slowing up over the last two. Ettn Quex finished in front. Golden Ash Is an unlikely starter in the Weraroa .Maiden Stakes. Aristocrat (Clutterbuck) and a companion, were given a working gallop over a mile. Silver Chain (Clutterbuck), running Ids first three furlongs in 42. finished up five furlongs in I.ll*. Miss Corvette (Clutterbuck) finished well in front of Black Saleve over four furlongs in 55j. Prom a slow start. Apocalypse (Clutterbuck) led Battledress (Holland) throughout six furlongs in a gallop that occupied 1.25}. the last three in 43. Aiderman (Lewis) showed ability by sprinting three furlongs down the back Choice (Holland) and Black Plato (Clutterbuck) finished together at the end of five furlongs lu 1.9, the last three in 42. Boden Park sprinted two furlongs In 26*. and Comrade (Lewis) and Cordny (Cintterbnck) galloped half a mile in 55. Amigo (Clutterbuck) finished up a round of pace work by coming home the last half-mile in 57. Burras (Holland) and Adrigoole completed five furlongs In 1.10. and Vermette (George) finished better than Mr. Cute nt tho end of throe furlongs in 41. 11. Dulieu’s team. Desert Victory, RroJvotne.
