FISHERMAN BELIEVED DROWNED
(Bv Telegraph -Press Association.! AUCKLAND, August 24. An elderly man is believed to have been drowned in Rangitoto Channel this morning when a small sailing dinghy capsized off Campbell’s Bay. He is AX a .^sy o h ward McElwain, widower, aged 18, ot Takapuna. Mr. McElwain frequently goes fishing in the channel, and he left his home to go to his dinghy, which was about ten feet in length and fitted with must and sail, at about 11 o'clock. Kesi dents in the Campbell’s Bay area saw the dinghy capsize about a mile and a half off-shore. The boat was later recovered by a small naval craft, but there was no sign of the occupant.
