ROMMEL REPORTED DEAD
(Received August 22, 10.40 p.m.) LONDON, August 22. 'Field Marshal Rommel died on July 18 from a fractured skull in a hospital at Bernay. That is the considered opinion of M. Lescene, mayor of Livarot, who is the local chemist. He gave Rommel an injection after an Allied plane sent the marshal’s car hurtling into a ditch, near Livarto, reports a British United Press correspondent in France.
