SNOOKER CHAMPIONSHIP
That Wellington will have another new snooker champion tiiis year was decided last evening wlien J. L. I'ctley. ex-eliain-pion (Conuii. Trav. Club) was defeated by M. 1,. Eivy (Cosy Club), by IH-07, thus fulfilling the precedent that no previous winner has over repeated his victory In this event. In the second game S. F. Dawson (Comm. Trav. Club), rtefented E. 11. Rowlands (Mt. Cook Police Club), 105-80. The third game resulted in a win for W. R. Hill (Victory) from 8. Cousins (Federal), by 107-7 s. Best break was 23 by Hili. The draw for (lie semi-finals tonight is: 7 p.m., W. H. Davies (Lower Hutt) v. IT. F. McQueen (Contra!); 8 p.m., E. L. Elvy v. S. F. Dawson; 0 p.m., the winner of the 7 p.m., Davies v. McQueen game will play Hill. Sixteen entries, as follows, have been received for the Wellington provincial B grade amateur billiards championship, which begins next Monday; D. Aigar. E. To Elvy, It.
