MAJOR GOLF UPSET

Byron Nelson Beaten (Received August 21, 9 p.m.) NEW YORK, August 21. In the most spectacular upset in the history of the tournament, Bob Hamilton, -8, of Evansville, Indiana, beat Byron Aelson, who is considered one of the greatest it not the best golfer the game has known, 1 up in tlie Professional Goiters Association championship. It was Hamiltons first championship tournament. Nelson played 1P(I holes during the seven davs of the championship in 30 under par, but in the final round was badly off putting form, taking three at the ninth, sixteenth and twenty-ninth holes, and losing them. He also continually missed putts which lie usually taps in without difficulty. Tim finalists were all square after the morning round, but Hamilton went ahead at the nineteenth, going into the final lead nt the short thirty-fourth with a birdie. Hamilton is little known at major touruaincuts. _____
