NAZI OIL PLANTS
Liberators’ Successful Mission
(British Official Wireless.) (Received August 21, 7.20 p.m.) RUGBY, August 20. Liberators on Saturday bombed three new important oil targets —Vacuum Oil Company and natural oil refineries at Czechwice, 45 miles west of Cracow, tlie I. G. Farbenindustrie synthetic oil and rubber plant nt Oswiecim, 30 miles west of Cracow, and the State oil refinery at Dubova, in Slovakia, 115 miles north of Budapest. „ , . These plants are callable of producing 75,000, 62,000 and 1)0,000 tons of oil yearly respectively. The crews reported very good says the Rome correspondent. Another new target—the aerodrome at Szolnok, 55 miles south-west of Budapest—was attacked, together with the railway yards there by heavy bombers nn Sunday. This aerodrome has been a base for ilcinkel bombers and some German fighters. Marauders on Sunday morning made 16 attacks on guns near Toulon, ajid reports indicated that all the missions were .successful. Other aircraft attacked targets in southern France, including railway bridges north of Avignon and road bridges at Cannes. Good results were reported.
