BUTTERFAT PRICES
Auckland Resolutions (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, August 18. A resolution stating that if certain requirements in connexion with the request for increased dairy produce prices were not realized, the Kumeu farmers would refuse to forward dairy produce from their farms was passed at a- special meeting of the Kumeu Combined Branch of the Farmers' Union. The resolution stated that the farmers should get the increased price sought by the industry, that the Government’s increased butter payment above the farmers’ increased price should be put in the dairy industry’s account, and fhat no sum should be taken from the industry without its consent. The resolution is to be forwarded to the Dairy Board and the Dairy Council. ' A meeting of dairy suppliers in Mana-, watu passed the following resolution: — “That this meeting of suppliers to the Manawatu Cheese Factory of New Zealand and Co-operative Dairy Company. Ltd., definitely approves of the action of the directors in asking for an increased pay-out of 2d. a pound -butterfat for the current season, and of the policy of keeping in the Dairy Industry Stabilization Account for the benefit .of the industry any surpluses accruing after all payments required to hold costs at the December 15, 1942, level.”
