WEATHER FORECASTS
Plans For Resumption A statement that plans for the resumption of broadcast weather forecasts for farmers were being prepared by the New Zealand Meteorologist Service was made on Saturday by the Minister of Defence, Mr. Jones. lie said that the exact date on which the service would be available would depend upon the security requirements of the Allied Command in the South Pacific. “Naturally, the Government is anxious for this service to be available to farmers. and for this reason we are preparins: in advance for tlie day when the present security requirements may be varied,” said the Minister. “However, it is not possible to say when this may be. as it will depend upon the war situation in
the Pacific and the security regulations of the Allied Command.'' We are. however, explorin'- the requirements of the farming community and it can be said that when the time comes we' shall be ready to restore a full weather broadcasting service without delay.”
