SERVICE CLUB CLOSED
Toe II In Wellington After nearly live years of service the Toe II club for servicemen Jn Wellington wag closed Inst night. The institution has been of the greatest assistance to members of the armed forces on weekend leave in the city, providing them with beds and meals, as well as the comfort of q cosy sitting room quite different from the ordinary service clubs. Also concerts. dances and social evenings have been organized. From Friday to Monday the club's doors have remained open night and day. To mark the close of the club a concert, organized by Mr. Assheton Harbord, was held last night. Addressing a large gathering of visitors and servicemen, the president, Mr. J. C. Riddell, thanked those who had assisted the club, including women' workers.
