CAPTAIN KILLED
(Received May 28. 11.10 p.m.) WASHINGTON. May 28. The Navy Department announced that Captain Karl Larsen, master of the freighter Thomas J. Walsh, was killed on April 19, in a South Pacific port after an exchange of shots with a naval gun crew aboard ship. The Navy Department added: “It became necessary to confine Captain Larsen to his quarters with four armed guards outside. Captain Larsen left his quarters and fired a. revolver at the guards, wounding one. The guards returned the fire, killing Captain Larsen.
