Greater Attention Likely By Government (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, March 24. A statement that the question of rural housing will shortly be given greater attention by the Government is made in a letter from the Commissioner of Works, Mr. J, Fletcher, to the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce. A protest, was made recently by the chamber against the proposed transfer of workers in the building industry to 'Wellington, and this was conveyed to Mr. Fletcher. He said that most, important buildings were still being erected at Wellington, including hospitals, which bad high priority. AH building labour at 'Wellington was not by any means concentrated on housing. The Government was fully aware of the urgency of rural bousing and an organization would shortly be set up to consider ways and means of making suitable housing available in rural ..areas.
