NATIONAL PARTY
Caucus Of Members Today A caucus of Parliamentary members of the National Party will be held today. The Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Holland, stated yesterday that he had no information from the ‘Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser, regarding the business for Parliament, or on the question of ther it was intended to hold a secret session. He had found that great interest was being taken by the public regarding future proceedings in Parliament. and particularly keen interest in the 17 new members of his team.
Mr. Holland .said that in his opinion secret sessions should be strictly limited to the opportunity of asking for and getting information from the Government which in no circumstances should be disclosed publicly. They should go no further. “My opinion is,” he added, “that a good many things discussed in secret sessions are such as could and should be publicly debated by Parliament.”
