Appeals For Single West Coast Miners
Dominion Special Service. CHRISTCHURCH, February 20. A total of 120 Runanga district State mine employees’. appeals against military service are set down for review by the Armed Forces Appeal Board at Greymouth on Monday. They comprise single men who -are subject to sine die adjournments. The cases of married men, numbering more than 100, will be reviewed on Wednesday. It is some months since the appeals of those concerned were reviewed. ‘ Until two years ago the Crown was represented at sittings of the board by a lawyer from oufside Greymouth, but recently Mr. F. Shapcott, secretary to the Greymouth board, has carried out these duties. It is understood, however, that the Crown Prosecutor at Grey mouth (Mr F. A. Kitchingham) has been briefed to represent the Crown at this week’s sittings. It is also reported that the Miners’ Union will be represented by counsel-
