Wellington Activities

The three Wellington rowing clubs were all active on .Saturday afternoou. The Wellington club’s events resulted as follows:—

The Petone club held senior’ and novice fours with visiting oarsmen from the Servises competing. Eight crews took the water. The first heat was won by Carter, Tonassen. Werges. Ironmonger (2J lengths), the second by Barney, Norton, MacDougall, and McLeod (three-quarters of a length), and the third by Abbott, Booth, Jackson, Simms (one-third o£ a length). The final resulted: Abbott, 1; Earney, 2. Three-quarters of a length. Whaleboat races conducted by the Star duh resulted: — Berry (str.), Johnston, Osten, Armstrong, Mehrteus, beat Cornick (str.). Little. Fox, Stewart, Bannister. Length and a half. , , Cowles (str.). Stone, Gruber, Ward, Murray, a bye. ■ Final: Cowles beat Berry by a length.
