Huge U.S. Naval Budget (Received February 18, 9.30 p.m.) WASHINGTON, February IS. President Roosevelt has submitted to Congress the largest naval Budget in history for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1944. The Budget of 30,789 million dollars is 3000 millions over the current year and 7000 millions over 1942-43. It includes 8084 millions for ships, 4024 millions for aircraft, and 50,000,000 for floating dry docks. . . At the same time the army is reducing its requests. The tentative army, budget is 18,001 millions, compared with the current 59,036 million dollars.
