CANBERRA, February 17. Australia will not abolish its standard “austerity” suit. The Minister for liar OrganizatioDj Mr. Dedman, said that under present conditions it was not' practicable to provide the labour and other resources required to abolish the limitations on men’s suits. • Mr. Dedman also announced that the Australian Government had agreed to supply New Zealand with 500,000 yards of textile material, some of double weft c : cth. The production of double weft cloth for Australian civilians' has been prohibited, but it will be arranged as soon as the manpower position allows. Double weft cloth is woven with a double ■twist in -the thread. The Australian standard weave cloth now being manufactured contains a single twist in the thread. .... Mr. Dedman denied discrimination in favour of New Zealand, declaring that the order for double weft cloth was accepted as a return for essential goods which were being received from New Zealand.
