LONDON, February 15. Thomas Lewin, Nazi Gestapo “butcher" in Istanbul, has a trapdoor in the floor of his office through which he disposes of men and women who.“ endanger the security of the Greater Reich.’ Karl Klechowski. a German spy who deserted to - the British in Istanbul yesterday, revealed this in an interview’ with the correspondent of the Associated Press of Great Britain. Lewin keeps “tab” on fugitives from Germany through his trapdoor device. People whom he considers undesirably are dropped without trace, said Kleckowski. “No one knows what happens to them beneath the trapdoor,” he added, “but they are never seen again. Lewin told me that in his office in the German Consulate at Istanbul there is also a cabinet filled with joisoned cigarettes and phials of poison. ’
