Airmen Climbers On ' Egmont
On Mount Egmont last Sunday a series of accidents befell a party of Royal New Zealand Ah Force personnel. They were proceeding in groups at. about 7000 feet, when some left the usual rock path route and one lost his balance, fell on the ice slope, and slid about 1000 feet over an outcrop of rocks before stopping. He suffered severe abrasions. While assisting in his rescue Aircraftman L. Ozich tripped and fell, fracturing an arm. Another also fell, but was not seriously hurt. ' News of the accident was taken to the Talitirangi Hut and more Air Force personnel, members of the Alpine Club, and Mr. R. F. Wilson. New Plymouth, went out with stretchers. Ozich was brought in and sent to th-- New Plymouth Hospital.
