Southland Frozen Meat Co.

The annual report of the Southland Frozen Meat and Produce Export Company, Ltd., states that the net profit for the year ended December 31 last, after Providing for taxation depreciation repairs, renewals, and contingencies was £24,073, which, added to the amount brought forward from last year, made a total of £38," 952. Of this amount £5OOO has been added to the fire insurance reserve and £ll,359 has been allotted to a final dividend of Bd. on preference and ordinary shares, living a balance of £22,592 to carry forward. Broken Hill Operations Development in the deep workings of important mines at Broken Hill shows no signs of the ore body diminishing in size or value. The North Broken Hili Company had reached a depth of 2900 ft. at the end of 1943, and the Zinc Corporation 2702 ft. , From 1,177,000 tons raised last year concentrates valued at £4,401,350 were produced.
