. LONDON, February 8. “I am convinced that as a great industrial nation we shall not, and cannot, recover from this war,” said the very Rev. Dr. Inge in a speech. “I believe that the episode of our history when we‘ were a great, wealthy nation, has come to an end, and that we shall gradually slide back into the prc-industrinl England, with a population of 20,000,000. consisting mainly of agriculturists and small tradesmen.” ■
