REMAND ON THEFT CHARGE

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, February 7. Angus Cameron Macfarlane, aged 44, civil servant, was charged in the Magistrates’ Court at Christchurch that between April 29, 1943, and September 9, 1943, he stole £327/18/5, the property of’the Ministry of Supply, by doing an act to aid Cecil Selwyn Sapsford to commit theft of the aforesaid moneys. Senior-Detective H. Nuttall, who prosecuted, applied for a remand to February 24, and this Was granted by Mr. Levvey, S.M., with tbe consent of counsel. Bail was allowed at £5OO in accused’s own recognizance, with one surety of £5OO.
