GLADIOLUS DISPLAY AT MIRAMAR

Ths Miramar and Eastern Suburbs midsummer show held last Saturday was opened by Mr. Hope B. Gibbons, president of the New Zealand Institute of Hortlcub tufe, who congratulated exhibitors on a very fine display.’ A large entry of . high quality gladioli,’ together with a good nufiiber of dahlias and hydrangeas, made a very colourful show. ’ The decorative section Was also outstanding, and there was a good display of vegetables. The judges Were Mr. W. R. Griffiths, gladioli; Mr. G. Aggett, dahlias; Mr. R. A. Nicol, cut flowers and vegetables; and Mrs. Fevre, decorative. The New Zealand Gladiolus Society's bronze medal for premier bloom was awarded to Mr. A. J. Jackson’s Iceberg, which was also open champion. The amateur champion was a seedling raised and shown by Mr. H. G.',Taylor. The Lew Polnton Memorial Cup for most points in amateur gladioli was won by Mr. Hamilton Dickson.
