NATIONAL SERVICE BILL SHELVED

WASHINGTON, January 18. The chairman of the Military Committee of the House of RepreSenttives, Mr. A. J. May. announced that the committee has indefinitely postponed the national service legislation requested by President Roosevelt. He explained that the committee niay resume Consideration of the situation later. Meanwhile it is holding the mater in abeyance pending further developments.
