CROSS-COUNTRY RACE
N.Z. Combined Services Championship
Dominion Special Service. 1 WANGANUI, September_26. In very convincing manner W. ’ll. Nelson (Southern Air Force) won the New Zealand combined services' cross-country championship race held at Wanganui on Saturday afternoon from a strong field. The race was over a course of 7i miles, and the winner's time was 44.55. A. B. Brown (Northern Army). 45.4 was second, and F. BSilver (Central Air Force), 45.27, was third. Nelson led from start to finish and belli off a strong challenge >by Brown in the closing stage. Tho team pJacings were: Southern Air Force, 24 point®, f; Central Army, 38, .2; Northern Army, 51, 3. Then followed Central Air Force,, Northern Navy, Southern Navy, Northern Air Force, and Southern Army, in that order.
