N.Z. TROTTING CUP
22 Horses Eligible
The New Zealand Trotting Cup, to be run at Addington in November, will be the richest race of cither code ever decided in the history of horse-racing in New Zealand. The winner's share of the stake will he £3250, the second horse £lOOO, third £5OO and fourth £250. The race is for horses assessed at 1.27 or faster. Horses assessed on 4.28 may nominate, but will give away a second to compete and will be handicapped as if assessed on 4.27. In the event of a 4.28 horse -finishing third, the stake for this place will be increased by £lOO. The horses eligible nt present to be entered are as follows: — Haughty, 4.24. Loyal Key, Nelson Eddy, 4.2.0. Countless, Springfield Globo, Peter Smith. Pacing Power, Horsepower, Hardy Oak, Fine Art, Burt Scott, 4.26. Shadow Maid, Gold Bar, Ferry Post, Dusky Sound. Colonel Grattan, Bayard, Kenworthy, 4.27. Joan Conquest, Coquette, Chatmos. Bronze Eagle, 4.28. The Metropolitan Trotting Club reserves the right to select the field which will contest the race.
