ALLEGATIONS DENIED
Mr. Hogan’s Reply To The Prime Minister At his meetings in Petone and Uwer Hutt last night Mr. John Hogan, Independent candidate for Hutt, referred to the statements about his character made by the Prime Minister, Mr. Frasdr, in his speech broadcast from the Wellington Town Hall tlie previous night. Mr. Hogan said that Mr. Fraser knew that his standing in Australia was of the highest, and that when he came to New Zealand on a lecture tour before settling here lie had carried the highest credentials from public men in Australia, including letters of introduction to Mr. Fraser himself from one of MrFraser’s personal friends there who held and still holds Cabinet rank. Mr. Hogan said that he considered the statements amounted to defamation of character, and lie was placing the matter in the hands of'his solicitors.
