Red Army’s Advance
LONDON, September 22.
Units of the advancing Red Army are reported to be within sight of Kiev.
Vichy radio says that the Russians have flung in fresh forces and are pursuing the offensive on all sectors of the battlefield, specially toward Kiev. General Rokossovsky in this advance lias crossed the Desna Valley at several points. Paris radio said that huge Russian armies supported by tanks and planes are attacking the German positions along both sides of the Roslavl-Smol-ensk road.
