COUNCIL IN RECESS
Result Of Dispute With Minister
(By Telegraph.—Press Assoi’liut.lon.) BLENHEIM, September 21. After a dispute with the Minister of Agriculture lasting over twelve months, the Marlborough Primary Production Council last night decided to suspend all activities unless its secretary-organizer is reinstated by 5 p.m. tomorrow. The chairman described the position as intolerable, saying that the secretary, Mr. E. B. Fitzpatrick, had the confidence of every producers’ organization and all the producers, but was opposed by one trade union not connected with primary production. The council had explored every avenue but found itself blocked at every turn. The charges levelled against the secretary had been fully answered but his salary payment had been stopped by the department for 2-| months. .It was a case of ministerial interference reversing three decisions <?t‘ the Appeal Board.
